Vibrant Studios Classes and Rates

We offer classes to all age groups. This page contains a summary of all of the different sorts of classes we teach under our roof. Check out the Schedule page for details about which classes are offered when.

Fees are based on the number of hours per week the student attends the school. Most classes are only an hour each, with some exceptions.

 

Break Dance – Eric Malapad

Invitation Only

Dancers here are working on developing their own personal skills, tricks and styles. They will work on very complex movements and are committed to putting their own time in after hours.

Competitive Levels of Hip Hop

Level Ages Minimum training
Junior Hip Hop 8-10yrs 2hrs/week
Intermediate Hip Hop 10-12yrs 4hrs/week
Senior Hip Hop 12 and up 5hrs/week
Advanced Hip Hop 13yrs and up 6hrs/week

The competitive levels are focused and committed to not only their classes but also their team mates. They get the opportunity to work with at least 3 different teachers who focus on different styles and areas of hip hop. They are required to attend Core Training, which focuses on cardio, core conditioning and flexibility.

These levels compete in festivals such as The Upper Island Dance Festival, North Island Dance Festival and a festival over on the mainland. They also get a lot of opportunities to perform at various community events.

Adult Hip Hop

All levels, ages and abilities. A chance to show up and dance and learn knew moves. Choreography changes weekly, so if you have to miss a class you won’t feel lost.

Punch Card : $130 for 10 classes and one free

 

 

 

 

All classes include a warm up, stretch and some core conditioning.

Introduction to Hip Hop

Boys and Girls only classes for:
3/4yrs
5/6yrs
7-9yrs
10-12yrs or 10yrs and up

Co-ed classes for:
Teen

The introduction to hip hop classes are a one hour class, once a week. They work on a basic understanding of hip hop movement, helping develop basic grooving, isolations of the body and musicality. These classes will perform at the Year End Show held at the Port Theater.

Level 1 and Level 2 Hip Hop

These are available for ages 6yrs and up.

The level 1 refers to one year of training in hip hop and the level 2 refers to 2 years of training in hip hop. These classes are one hour class, once a week. They help the dancers increase their ability in movement and musicality. The overall class and choreography will be much more challenging than that of the introduction classes.

Break Dance Introduction and Level 1

10yrs and up

Introduces dancers to top rock movement, how to get down to the floor and basic break technique. These dancers will not progress to the next level until the teacher feels they have demonstrated their basic movements cleanly and precisely and their core strength will support them.

Open Jazz

A drop in style class for advanced dancers who just want a class for technique and fun choreography. A minimum of 5yrs of Ballet and Jazz training is recommended.
